I haven"t installed any brand-new software lately, yet last week, ns booted my computer system to be told: "You should restart your computer to use these changes". This happened around 3 times over the food of a few days.

You are watching: You must restart your computer to apply these changes

I haven"t viewed that message for a pair of years now, because I turned home windows Updates completely off (it"s set to "Never inspect for updates").

Could Microsoft it is in issuing secret updates? Is there any method to watch a log in of what updates have been downloaded/installed?

Not on home windows 7. The shouldn"t be feasible if updates have actually been turned off.

Is there any means to check out a log in of what updates have been downloaded/installed?

Yes.

Press your Windows an essential and type View installed updates and struggle your enter key.

You will acquire a background of all updates installed and also the day they were set up on.

Strange, I just checked my Windows update settings, and also the box was confirm for "Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates". Ns don"t remember having actually that crate checked, and also I"ve unchecked that now. But the main setting is set to "Never check for updates" so it surely shouldn"t also be feasible to receive any kind of updates.

Thanks, I evaluate that suggestion. Yet after what Microsoft did to all home windows 7 users earlier in 2016, and after seeing the horrors of home windows 10, ns no much longer trust lock one bit. I would rather "fend for myself" 보다 trust Microsoft to help keep me safe. Castle are clearly spying ~ above people and who to know what horrors are hidden in their so-called "critical "updates.

(By the way, sorry around the quoting in this message. Ns wasn"t able to number out how to usage these strange quote controls.)
